  1. oh boy!, u just inherited two kitties w/that saucer of milk.. my mother did that (years ago) and ended up w/a litter of cats. Albert is such a gentleman!... Will he be sharing his bed?

  2. You're so right -- Albert is not the sharpest fondue fork on the table, but he has a very gentle heart. Apparently, these cats live a block or so away, but now we just have to convince them of that.

  3. My cat and dogs always got along although the cat was the boss even though he was outweighed by a lot!

  4. Nice to hear about Albert. Great shots of the cats. I greatly miss having one in the house.

  7. "When dogs and cats drink out of the same bowl, there shall be peace on earth." (Old proverb). Je suis Albert.

  8. In college my roommate had a cat named Ted, who would disappear for days at a time. My roommate anguished over him every time. One day she found him at an apartment nearby. She told the woman who lived there that Ted was her cat. "Well, he wouldn't run off if you would feed him!" the woman said. Which, of course we did. Ted was getting fat.

The moral: when you're a cat, home is where the food is.

  11. I am not a fan of roaming cats, I have my reasons, but that is just too cute. Je t'aime Albert.

    (You're Pinnable now? Très chic.)

  13. Memories: When I brought home a small red kitten and introduced him to my large German Shepherd, I said "Romulus, this is your new kitten and you must take very good care of him." The next thing I heard was pitiful whining from the kitchen. It seems the kitten had installed himself in Rom's bowl and was eating his dinner. All my gentle, careful [obedient!] dog could do was whimper and hope Mom would help. Ah the stories I could tell----like another dog who nurtured an indecent [and public] passion for another of my cats.

  15. The cat looks like Winston, who visited me this summer. My mastiffs always loved cats; it was less clear whether cats loved them. Kittens, on the other hand, loved the big galoots. Albert is a true prince among dogs.
