Let's Party

Join Altadena Heritage this Saturday, from 2-4 p.m. All the best people will be there.

Plus, I promise you this -- You'll witness horseback riding of exceptional quality -- dressage, racking, western, Charros; and there will be a performance by the Denas' and Doo-Dah's own Dianne Patrizzi. We'll share a little past, a little present, some gossip and nosh.

Come on down to 3064 Ridgeview Drive.

Don't make me come and get you.

  1. Are you channeling Bob or Jane? And do you have a permit for that or you just mad because the Gubmint's back in busniness?

  4. And if you have to come and get us, you might just leave some of that extra guacamole in our trunks?

  7. There will be interesting food, some from El Patron, some from Altadena cooks, and cake by Patticakes to top off dedication of a new Altadena Heritage Area that celebrates our horsiness. . .

  9. That top photo reminded me of the square dancing parties my mom and dad had when I was a kid...the bain of my existance!!! My mom told me when I got to Jr. High that if I wanted to have a boy-girl party the first one had to be a square dancing party!!! Talk about a buzz-kill!!! Square Dancing in the 60's??? Never did have a boy-girl party at my house!!! And in retrospect, it was probably a good thing and probably good strategy on her part!!!

  11. I tried to find some Western outfits from vintage Sears catalogs, but then this jazzy number caught my eye.

  14. Karin did not misrepresent. A very interesting couple of hours. Different kinds of pure-bred horses and excellent riders. Live entertainment, a little food, a little history, and lots of riding. And it was conceived and put together by the Altadena Hiker herself, with a special appearance by Dianne Patrizzi and others. Brava!

  15. If I wasn't out in the desert right now...
If I was home, I'd show up wearing sequined square dance outfit. That is as western as I can go.
