Do Tell

This isn't, like, a satanic symbol, is it?

I'm going with isn't.

I actually have a pretty good story to go with this -- just need a little time to unfuck it.

  3. Gosh. This is a creation story.
    The distance between concept and execution.

  4. The cosmological eye. I think the caption's a bit harsh on it.

  5. Aside from what I have to tell, I think this is the best epitaph ever.

  6. I like this a lot, I like Desiree's interpretation, too. I'm looking forward to the story, especially when you say "epitaph."

  7. Pretty cool. Wonder what it was supposed to be? Looking forward to your story.

  8. I want to hear the rest of the story. Too often what we conceptualize isn't what appears.

  9. Is this your work of art? I'm looking forward to the back story, too.

  10. I see the makings of Elvira hidden among the "eye of God" lashes. An aspect of whole language; if letters are missing, your mind fills them in - my mind's eye filled in "Elvira."

    And If the artist was trying to create the Mason Pyramid with the eye of God at the top (like on the dollar bill) then I agree, they fucked it up.

  11. Oh god, no. Not mine. I found this at a demolition site. To crack the code, it seems to me we must first figure out E R A. Equal Rights Amendment? Edgar Roasts Apples? Ok, I'm just going to point my finger at the dictionary:
    E = Enwreathe
    R = Redoubtable
    A = Apologue

  12. If you're an American, or just know baseball and apple pie, you know it stands for only 1 thing:
    Earned
    Run
    Average

    Art

  14. I like the last "ERA" interpretation. Also Desiree's.

  16. Long lost prototype of the CBS eye.

    Er . . . Ah . . . But the Ah was cut short by a robber baron who couldn't wait for the laborer to take his time and create genuine art.

  17. Does it also say polo? And is that some kind of Arabic writing in the eye? And is that a lot like this?:

    Toynbee Tiles

    The movie is great - but not for everyone, obvy.

  21. The eye and the pyramid look like the "Eye of Providence" or the "all-seeing eye of God"...the symbol on the back of the dollar bill... I looked for E, R, and A but couldn't find any reference to these letters...
    Interesting find Hiker!!! Where'd you find it???

  24. I'm going for the obvious answer {what can I say, I'm a simple girl.} We are entering the Era of Polo. Blame it on the Mayans.

  27. I was going to attempt some kind of witticism for ERA, but got sidetracked by the best SPAM comment ever about calibrating your oven. There is some kind of weird wisdom in referring to the comments above as ingredients.

  28. And I'll bet most of them don't like their veggies.

  29. Hilarious spam! As for the evil eye artwork - it's so unusual for an artist to admit they fucked it up. I bet Picasso, Dali and Damien Hirst often thought that - knew that - but never admitted it. Not while each fucked-up artwork fetches millions.

  30. Were the veggies pea pods and brussel sprouts? Because those would get a lot of moaning here. Best. Spam. Ever.

  31. I can't help but think the pizza pan ashtabula oven calibration moaned about eating veggies comment is somehow connected to this cryptic art. Very intriguing.
