Yes, it was a cool sky this evening, wasn't it? One of your white clouds turned into a big black cloud after sunset like an upright hand with fingers outstretched. I'd love to think there was rain on the way, but am not optimistic.
Hope you're careful on the roof - another trick you learned from Albert?
That hit the spot, Hiker. One of my all-time favourite pieces. And a glorious accompaniment to your photos. {Err, can you believe my wv is spays. I was expecting something more poetic.}
Clouds. It's total gray or clear blue sky this winter. No in between. It's all in or nothing at all.
Yeah, you turned me on to Argerich. I was at Cheapo Discs last night, looking for a copy of "Genius of Love" by the Tom-Tom Club. Picked up some Dexter Gordon, too. The thing is, they had hundreds of used classical CD's, I dipped into nary a one. What was I thinking?
ou know Chieftess, few people could drag me out to see a concert, but I'd go to see Martha. Trouble is, she has terrible stage fright and is often a no-show. I'm sure she feels more comfortable playing duets.
Christina, I see the resemblance! Your photos are lovely, as always.
Gorgeous, although in my head I hear Laura - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVYqR0bnoqQ Truly, I can almost feel the cool air on my face in your second picture and the hand in the last frame sort of beckons...
Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are some stunning photos. And, you know how much I like cloud shots :)

Wowowowow.

ReplyDeleteOh the sky is glorious! But the music...it makes me weep.
ReplyDeleteLucky you to be able to capture those clouds!.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Karin!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to Martha.
She is the best! Martha is a good friend of the Brazilian pianist, the great Nelson Freire.
Here two links to both playing together:
Martha Argerich and Nelson Freire and
Schubert, Rondo, Argerich & Freire.
Hi Rebecca. It is, isn't it. (I can say that, as I take no credit for either Argerich or the sky.)
ReplyDeleteCam, you're the cloud master. Did you have the same display yesterday?
Bellis, keep the fingers on that hand crossed, because I heard there might be rain on Monday.
Petrea, was the sky as spectacular down south?
Shell and Kaoria, me too. It a piece just on the edge of tears.
Sonia! Thank you! That took my breath away. The Mozart so happy and the Schubert lyrical. Friere is another favorite of mine.
Ohhhhh....Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular photos Karin!!! And the music is perfect for setting the mood...
Incredible!
ReplyDeleteYou would think we'd have the same sky, but I didn't notice anything like this. Maybe I just wasn't looking up.
ReplyDeleteWow, those clouds look like they've been painted on the sky with great, sweeping brush strokes.
ReplyDeletewhat a rebel. great captures!
ReplyDeleteNothing like yours, Karin. Those were da bomb!
ReplyDeleteYou give substance to wispiness.

My head must be in the clouds.

ReplyDeleteSuch piano and photographic mastery.
ReplyDelete"You give substance to wispiness." Well said, Paula.
Those are stunning photos of the sky! Love how the clouds seem painted, wisped out.
ReplyDeleteThey're all excellent, but that last one is in a league of its own!
ReplyDeleteA fun place to be. Did you see James Taylor up there?
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe you saw Laura Nyro up there? ;)
ReplyDeleteIf we're going to go there, then:

Sorry, the photos reminded me of my current garden addiction. But, when one is addicted, all things lead the same directions.
Ahhhh...now you're talkin' Hiker!!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough...I must admit...as much as I love the Drifters...your gorgeous photos are probably more effectively accompanied by Martha...
ReplyDeletepretty

Was JT up there with you? That sky could have inspired that song.
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't take those--I've just been drooling over them. I hope all is well over on the other side of town!
ReplyDeleteUhmmmm..... yes These are nice shots of the ever amazing sky.
