Though I was getting pretty agile hopping rock to rock (only fell once), I can't get my head around how she got a refrigerator up there. Or carries up 20 pounds of dog food on a regular basis. Magic, I guess.
What? A absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking set of shots ... And a great story and a funny punch line. You are not allowed to be so good at EVERYTHING! LOVE, LOVE this post!
If I had to carry my shopping that far, I'd only buy lightweight things. Goodbye, milk. Goodbye oranges and apples. Goodbye wine. Mind you, in Madagascar the women walked 3 miles to the nearest store and carried all the supplies back home on their heads. Maybe that's how Bonny got the kibble up there?
Well, thank you. Will take some photos of the upper hillsides next time. It's the kind of place where, once you leave, you can't wait to go back again.
This is totally off topic, but I whistled this song up and back (and up again and back). I blame Earl. And when I had my horse out tonight and she started to act up, I whistled it again, and we danced.
Ahhh, this warms my heart! My homesick heart! Please do go there again, feed the birds and snap some photos of Robert and Sally, or Fred, or whoever else comes along... Thanks Karin! (:--)))) --Bonny@OnWingsOfCare.org
a FRIDGE?!?!?! Holy toledo! I hope she did it ala the old Navy way---ship one part home a week and by the time your tour is up, you've got a "free" Jeep at home waiting for assembly!
Beautiful hike, beautiful location, but I'd rather not forget the combo. I'd likely hike more if I wanted, but not to and from the car...sigh!
What a lovely spot. A perfect little getaway. I recall someone commenting that Bonny convinced the fire department (or Forest Service?) to save her house and surrounding cabins during the Station fire. Way to go, Bonny. Looks like a gem of a place.
Good of you, Hiker, to trek back and forth to feed the birdies.

Really beautiful photos!
Beautiful and I love how the images move from muted to brilliant.
Wow, what a magical place... love the last 2 photos- lighting is well balanced.
VERY nice photos! It looks like an interesting hike!
What an estate! Thoreau: "I'd rather sit on a pumpkins and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion." (Well, that's close).
I suppose Bonny isn't winning any popularity contests with the pizza delivery guys . . .
That next to last photo is especially a winner!

Wonderful photos! It looks like she lives in a tree house.
what an uphill journey. better for those with wings.
That's a good bit of exercise. Looks idyllic.
I'm sure the unexpected exercise did you good, and the birds had something to laugh about. With a view like this, familiarity breeds content.

LOVE, LOVE this post!
It looks charmed. One could forget to take the combination along quite intentionally so as to necessitate the rinse and repeat cycle.
Beautiful photos, Karin!
Step by step you reach the top.
The IMG_1718 picture is magical!

A suspenseful photo essay. Nice job KB.

W/o the beauty of the trip it would be oh soooo frustrating.
Here, the stream would be frozen, so you'd slide down it. Love your pictures.
If its any consolation, similar things have happened to me but the scenery was much less attractive.

Fabulous! Over the river and up up up to Bonny's place we go. I love the photo of the steps; such a timeless photo.
The second to last photo reminds me of Maxfield Parrish
It looks like something that would be lovely to repeat and repeat and repeat - just for the sheer beauty of it. Lovely, AH!
