Overheard at the Huntington

"It's always like this, always! I try to explain how I feel and you never listen. I might as well be talking to this tree or that wall. You never listen to a word I say."

"Shhh. For god's sakes, lower your voice or someone might hear you."

  5. This is excellent, Karin. Of course, I have to admit, one of my favorite guilty pleasures is the website Overheard in New York.

  9. Who said they were married? What is first plant?

  10. The first speaker is a man, the second a woman. And though neither would listen, someone would hear. Married? No idea. But I know the tree -- it's a Silk Floss.

  12. It's so intriguing overhearing bits of conversation while out and about. They make for great writing prompts.

  15. I ADORE that carving.

Oh, I do so hate whinger's - little wonder that poor partner/spouse never listens to anything they say, how demeaning to be berated thus in public!

  16. Well, at least you seemed to have heard him! ;D

  19. Love these photos. The first speaker is the man? I'm guilty of gender stereotyping.
