Compromise

I can scare the life out of my friends -- all I have to do is lift my camera and take their picture. Really. Somehow, and certainly without trying, I seem to find the worst light, angle, pose. What can I say -- it's a gift. I've horrified five people this past month alone.

Here are some photos from last week's meet-up with Virginia, Katie, Kathy, Tash, Petrea, Ron, and Judy. But just so these lovely people will speak to me again in this lifetime, I won't say who is who.

That's how I feel EVERY time my photo is taken. The lighting or angel doesn't matter, my true beauty just doesn't seem to come out in photos...

Maybe your gift is failing you, because these people look very attractive.

Have I mentioned that I'm glad I don't live near you?

More! (he said safely from 2,000 miles away).

i have a similar talent of making everyone - myself included as ugly as possible.

it's nice though, because then the reality of me is so much less painful to view than the 2 dimensional version which appears to be having a stroke.

Something to be said for that, Amy. It's my goal to do damage to all of you one day.

I don't live so near you & here I am. At least I can thank you for the upper/front shot only! I look as happy as I was to be with such a fun group.

Karin: I usually hate pictures of me, but you seem to take good ones. As you know, you took my Patch picture at a blogger picnic, and this one is not bad either! Karin Bugge. Official photographer to Mr. Earl.

I'm stealing it for my FB page.

I have no complaints. I'm just glad I've been pumping iron since you mostly captured my upper arm. I think everyone looks pretty good in your photos, although this is the only time all weekend I didn't see Virginia smiling!

At least they didn't hide their faces behind their hands or run away (like some of my subjects do). And actually I don't think they look "unattractive" at all. Looks like you had a good time.

When viewing my portraits, you can increase the person's attractiveness by some exponential degree.

From this gathering, I have a photo of Kevin of jimsonweed.blogspot.com, but it was too blurry even for my blog. Too bad, because it was in other ways really nice. No, really, it was.

It looks like fun, despite the fear you instilled in your subjects. Lovely photos of lovely people.

I don't care who they are, I love them all.

You got my boobs and my hands, which are--okay, well, not my worst features. I will always be grateful to you for not posting the most awful picture ever taken of me.

And yet somehow they always forgive you. It's a gift you have.

If you visit Virg's blog at http://birminghamalabamadailyphoto.blogspot.com/

you'll see how these people really look, and the favor she did for me.

You captured the frivolity of the evening though, Hiker!!!

Well, I think I recognize Bogart...although it seems you've even managed to give him a clown nose... *smile*

I've also found lifting my camera is a great way to scare off people who otherwise won't leave you alone.

Nice pics of your ladies blogger meeting!

That's a brilliant idea, Cafe.

Carolynn, didn't I just!

Did you get MY boobs? Geesh, they are the only things I still have working for me. But for the record, I was a happy camper the ENTIRE time I was in So Ca. What's not to like about being with some of the greatest blog/friends in the world?
