The boys are back in town

Yes they are.

It's 105 degrees in the shade, but some guys are always cool.

DB, Earl, Cafe (left to right):

Kenny Mac (of course, he's a New Yorker):

Photographer Kevin, AKA Mr. Downtown:

Bandit, Birdman, Van Helsing, Terry (Right to left):

Ranger Keith:

Patch Editor Dan:

I seek relief camping with a few friends. (That guy who looks like Tom Waits? Banjo.)

Tomorrow we'll visit the girls. In the meantime, You can satisfy all your polyester-stud cravings at Katie's house. And she'll even send you a personal postcard. (No kidding. I'll show you mine if you show me yours.)

I’m also impressed over the equipment on camping, not only a big bouteille of moonshine but also the entire distillery.

All Aboard!!!

Seems that Katie's Summer Train Smackdown is a bit more 'conservative' than yours!

Thanks for the ride.

Well, Earl, Katie's from Berkeley and we're hotter down here.

How the hell did you know I'd been in the Chippendales?

-K- said...

Yeah, that's me all right. As a matter of fact, it could have been taken thirty minutes ago.

Opps - I meant to say thirty *years* ago.

You knockin' Timberland, Miss SoCal Smarty?

Oh, wait. Mine are Ecco.

Wow, in 1981 I made the same pair of green shorts that Kenny Mac is wearing. My hair never looked that good though. Yes Earl my smackdown is a bit more polyester, but my source material is limited to just the one 1966 Sports Illustrated I own. There is an ad for a Pow-R-Boy lawn mower with a sexy chick in an evening gown though, and an Austin Healey Sprite "for less than two grand". For what that's worth.

OK, ready Terry?

. . . 5, 6 , 7 , 8!

Paula - Nice to know you appreciate the tighties in the first photo. Where did you find that photo of Mr. Earl, Cafe and me? I've been looking for my copy for years.

After you visit the gurls tomorrow, or I'll do them if you can't, I suggest you blog on the mtn bikers.

wow, I dated a guy like Kenny Mac in the 80's, for 3 minutes until he ran off with another guy.

And db...gee, I knew a lot of the dancers out on the West side Chippendales in the 80's...don't remember you, then again, that uniform you wear now covers up most of what I might recognize (sorry Chieftess).

wv: ondowed---lol!

How dashing.

Pasadena Adjacent said...

no wonder your so popular with the boys

Mister Earl said...

I'LL DANCE TO THAT!

altadenahiker said...

Hey Earl, I see Bjork did a version of that.

Trish, KM almost pulls it off, doesn't he? Green shorts and all.

Trish said...

yes, KM almost does, LOVE, love, love the green...then again, I remember the color only too well from the 80's.

please tell me you didn't pull that from an International Male catalog?!?! aka, gay Victoria's Secret.

wv: lentskin---I'm loling too hard to even post what is running thru my mind...

Petrea Burchard said...

I was going to offer to scan my post card and email it to you, but you already have quite the collection. This makes me wonder why.

Bellis said...

Thanks for the photo of Dan. Now I can say hi to him when he rides by on his mountain bike.

altadenahiker said...

Truth in advertising, Katie owns her photos, I just poach online.

And Trish, how you knew the source of that photo --- I knew a guy some time ago who did all his shopping at International Male. He had a pair of what can only be described as yellow bumble bee pants.

Mister Earl said...

That's wild, Karin. Bjork did Tina Charles' "I Love to Love" in 1976, when she was 9 years old. Great find! That's when the song came out, and in 1977 it was a staple at the Friday-night gatherings at on the kibbutz.

Trish said...

shhhh, I know people K!

and lol on the bumblebee pants! I may have dated that guy too! what else have we shared?!?!?

We have a client who has pictures I *know* are from the late-80's---I know how old their kids are---but also the styles. One haircut on her sister---I can only describe as "you put on an aluminum hat, stuck your finger in a socket and bleached what stuck out from under the hat (and out from the electrocution) of your shoulder length hair, but kept the rest deep, naturally dark brunette". Looks like two blonde poodles are sitting on the woman's shoulders! Good news is, she was wearing shoulder pads large enough to support those dogs (and the hair)!

Pat Tillett said...

Thank goodness, times have changed! Or have they?

Petrea Burchard said...

Pat, I saw a guy at the grocery store who looked just like a guy I dated in college in 1975. Same long hair, same faded jeans, same Led Zeppelin t-shirt.

Ken Mac said...

pay dirt baby! How did you know? ha ha

Jilly said...

Brilliant - too funny!

TheChieftess said...

You all should see the one of DB in his hat!!!

Margaret said...

My goodness! I hope the boys have sun screen.

Virginia said...

I can't even type I'm laughing so hard. I insist that all the boys gather with us when I come out...in the same attire of course! KM gave you a shout out on his blog. He's trying to pass himself off as one of the Brief Boys!

I want to know, when are we going to see the girls?

Terry B, Blue Kitchen said...

Sorry I'm late to the party, guys. I was busy blow-drying my chest hair. Now can I get a Harvey Wallbanger, please?

altadenahiker said...

Coming soon, DB. Though I must say the Disco era was harder on men than women.
