Why downsize...

When you can rightsize!

Following in the grand tradition of Green and Green, this Altadena charmer features tongue-and-groove construction, handcrafted cabinetry, riverrock fireplace, and sophisticated ventilation system.

Bring your toolkit and a little imagination. But hurry, this one will go fast.

You missed your calling as a real estate agent. *smile* This one has a certain quirky charm.

Now, that's a house I would fight a bear for!

Did you take a trip up here and not tell me???

Quite the fixer upper!

I would call this "tongue in cheek" construction.

It looks like they're doing an extensive update and renovation - they'll be back they've just gone to Lowe's for some parts.

Quit peeking over the fence!

Tongue in cheek construction - love it, Petrea. Karin, perhaps this is the hideaway of illegal deer hunter Ram-bro?

I'm actually rather in love with this place. And Idiot Gardener, put up your dukes -- there's usually bear scat on the porch. Maybe it's Smokey's house.

Oh, yeah, gotta trade in the ol' homestead for this one!

LOL. guess this "down economy" is making the market tough for sellers!

with your prompting post from the other day, I ventured out to my couple of favorite spots of "look honey we could surely afford THAT one".

Guess the "cash for clunkers" applied to houses and shacks too---every LAST one of them, demolished!

dang!

wv: daism...too easy to make it a southernism so...daism...it WAS going to be "daismashedupmycrappyhouse" but it was chopped due to lack of funding

I don't know. How is it rodent wise? I like pets.

How did you get a photo of the log cabin that the Chieftess has in escrow?

Susan Campisi said...

I always wanted to live in a log cabin. Bear scat on the porch is a real bonus.

The bidding war has started!

altadenahiker said...

Oh, say, if there's a bidding war, maybe I'll take some shots of the interior. That should jack up the price...

That add-on wing to our right might be a good mother-in-law apartment.

Sadly, this is nicer than some of the for sale properties we've been seeing here in Chicago lately.

wonder about the history here? Gold miner's shack? Gangster getaway? Hippie hive? Or is this your personal love shack? :)

so the other day, I showed an elderly friend the pic of the previous shack. Then showed her this one this morning.

Let's just say her eyesight isn't great---she asked if it were the same house.

I explained that no, this one didn't have the fenced yard and had much more A/C than the previous one. We proceeded to giggle and point out differences.

But wait, it gets better! She then grabbed the local paper and started looking for houses I might be able to afford...more uproarious laughter as the first place she found was a "little" place for "only" $7.5M...don't know if that included the land or not. Had to tell my friend I'll have to stick with AH---she finds me "affordable" housing!

thanks for providing gals a lot of laughter with your lovely descriptors of these...uhm, mansions!

Trish, I think Kenny Mac is right. It's my looooove shack. Wait until you see the interior, because I have the key...

Trish said...

lol..ok, Karin, I'll let YOU keep your love shack...but promise to keep looking, I just KNOW there's affordable housing in Altadena! ;-)

You clean it up, make it solid, and I'll live there. Well, I would if it were up to me.

Thanks for reminding us that we're still in a housing crisis.
