Is that squirrel eating a crustless cucumber sandwich for high tea? I guess the geese are stuck with low tea. The riff-raff look like my kind of crowd though.
Ok, I don't say anything for fear I'll jinx it, but I've just heard my blog might be nominated for the most frequent use of the term "riff-raff" within a 12-hour period over the past hundred years.
This also reminds me when I used to go to the Huntington back in the 90's I would go indie morning before it opened. The reason was to experience some peace w/o the crowds & their noisy kids. I can see from the pics the situation hasn't gotten any better.
Ah heck Bellis...I've had high tea at the Huntington with these unidentified riff raff...they conducted themselves quite elegantly and with civility!!!
I don't remember anyone laughing so hard tea came out their nose!!!
Linda, if you meant "beer," these two drink, of all things, a beer drained of all it's raison d'etre. In other words, it's non alcoholic. Riff-raff(tm)? If only.
The Canadian family is so cute. Saw a sign on the side of the road recently. A marine construction company was advertising for sea walls, docks, boat lifts and also could provide Riff Raff! (aka as Rip Raf)
Bellis, we'll approve of any kind of bunny photo, disapproving or otherwise. I hope you do it soon, the blog is going to stop taking submissions in the near future as Queen Cinnamon is rather elderly and they're planning on winding things up.
And I love that tree, good looking riff raff in the foreground or not. But the riff raff adds a little je ne sais quoi, non?
well, it wasn't high tea coming out of my nose, but pellegrino sure does make a mess.
riff-raff indeed! one is surreptitiously taking a timed photograph of the one in flannel carrying pot, er A pot (of what??), while simultaneously chatting up a striped nun who is praying in the middle of the Huntington! Praying to what, one might ask, why, to the gods of the split tree, of course! Absolutely riff-raff!
The critters are cute--certainly cuter than the pea-hens that ran us off at the Arboretum! But the riff-raff...well worth a trip to the Gardens to see them!
Huell Howser would approve. Not about your chosen riff - raff (he prefers his R & R at the military base near 29 Palms) but about the arboreal bondage.

Well, I was going to complain about being left out, but after seeing the riff-raff...
Love the shots, love the captions.
VW: I've been 'vergesse(n)'...I kid you not (boo-hoo)
I'd definitely worry about that riff-raff. They look like trouble.

You always post the glam shots.
Nice to see wildlife left to its own devices.
I've met Tash, and she is riff-raff of the highest order. She weilds a mean camera, as you do.
Those others... hmmmm.
Do you trust them so close to Pinky, Blue Boy, and that nutty Countess?
Say la bee say la bee.

I'm so fucking excited.
I like the way you think. You're the Dorothy Parker of Altadena.
Which reminds me I need to pick up some Free tix I won to this place.
Always nice to see unidentified riff-raff...

what a happy family. And thanks for the mileage!
Those baby geese are mighty cute. So are the riff-raff.
Cute animals and gals.
Oh shoot. I forgot to mention the riff-raff...RIFF-RAFF! (that ought to clench the nomination) :-D
According to the dictionary, riff raff are "unworthy plebeians who lack the elegance and civility to mingle in high society."
It fits.

Should we say "riff-raff" a few extra times, or will that jinx it? Let us know, Hiker, we're all excited for. you.
Keep the riff raff and get a bear.

Your riff-raff looks pretty good compared to this guy, nothing but trouble:
High tea, low expectations...
And yes, those are bunny nuts.
Why would they let the riff-raff in to scare the Canadians?

Riff Raff is just a cool word. (Well, it was--inflation can downsize anything).
Notice that the critters ended up being completely ignored because everyone loves riff raff.
Yes, Banjo. And everyone loves these two examples of riff-raff in particular.
Bayside, perhaps I should export them.
Oh my, Paula, you've made my day with that link to the Disapproving Rabbits blog. My bunny would like to be featured soon.
May I deflect attention from that riff raff (TM) to the tree behind them? Has anyone noticed anything odd about it?
Riff on the left, Raff on the right?
Good eye Bellis!!! I didn't notice the tree...I was so mesmerized by the riff raff in front of it!!! Cool tree!!! wonder how they did that???
I can't wait to be RIFF RAFF there again. Get those damn squirrels outta there before I come back. :)

Hmmmm....arboreal bondage...not quite sure what to think about that one!!!
Damn, wouldn't you know the day blogger stole all of Thursday's work was the one day I had 500 comments.
Dayam Hiker!!! Only 500??? I would've thought you hit the 1000 mark by now!!!
Oddly, Chieftess, I did hit 1000 comments once. And that was the other time Blogger went down. Coincidence? Conspiracy? I leave it to you.
You are AWESOME Hiker!!!
Blogger...not so much!!!
I know that feeling. For sure it’s a Conspiracy ... Just oversee and go for another HIGH!
Riff-Raff
"Aww" to the cute fluffy animals. And the riff-raff looks decidedly earnest to me.
I love Squirrls =)
