Central Altadena

Walking in the afternoon, before the rain. I intended to shoot nothing but houses. Maybe houses with clouds. Maybe houses with clouds and trees. Maybe houses with clouds and trees and dogs.

Then it was just dogs. Dogs that live, one assumes, in houses with clouds and trees.

Looks like you're doing some K9 window shopping...
Was there a brunch of barking happening when they saw you?

Too doggone cute!
Look at those last 2 - they are so adorable, I'd even take them home.

Shoot first then call whatever you hit your target. Great targets. The dogs have a nice place to live. I miss the rain and green of Portland. Phoenix is brown, dry and bland.

You couldn't have had your dogs with you - those pooches look too friendly. I was exploring PAs secret steps the other day with Abby, and all along the way, she was verbally abused by garden dogs - how dare you come to Garvanza, you Pasadena snob!!!!. Get out of here, now!!! We had to retreat back to the other side of Avenue 64.

Karin, I would love to let you loose on the garden of the second house down. You'd have it full of flowers, fruit and vegetables in no time.

You can look at my Wilson Professional Soccer ball, but you can't touch it.

Pierre, I lived in Oregon too at one point. Moving to California was a big adjustment, from a color perspective.

Bellis, that is one of my favorite houses. I think someone is working on it now as a long-term project. Look at those great steps.

Awww! Cutie doggies.

I love the dramatic spring time, big, fluffy clouds sitting on the mountains.

Those last two are really adorable. I like Petrea's translation!

When I first looked at the soccer ball doggie, it looked like a clown mask or some high-tech muzzle. Cute doggies! Nice houses.

Nice houses. Wish I had one with a big front yard like that... our dogs would keep busy all day!
Or suffer at Mt. Disappointment...

The soccer doggie looks like he’s training for competition in dressage (equestrian).

Yes, Petrea pretty much summed up what I was thinking. Sorry, your beautiful pooch pics totally distracted me from the houses, KB.

On second thought that last one might be of an ahem....an advanced age, and had to cross her legs when she sneezed.

Looks mighty pleasant to me. I envy your hilly terrain. How has Altadena fared over, say, the last 50 years when it comes to mudslides, fires, earthquakes, floods, etc.?

I haven't forgotten last summer's fire--I wasn't clear on just how threatened Altadena itself was.

In greater L.A. is there such a thing as a safe place (earthquakes excepted b/c of unpredictability).

I mean to be curious, not contentious. I am the soul of uncontentiousness.
