Life Above the Big City

Once a month in Altadena, we swap home-grown produce.

Kris called a taxi.

And brought a friend.

Always worth the effort.

On a separate note -- Tim, Debbie, Susan, and I would like to invite you to our Second Annual Altadena Blogger Picnic in the Park, March 20th. We'd love to see you.

Whoopee!

I was enlarging the pictures to see if I recognized anybody. I didn't, but I know the park. I'm going to steal that invitation and post it this week on PDP.

Nice gathering. If we tried to do that in NoHo... well, I don't even know what we would be swapping. ;)

Wohoo! Blogger picnic! I'll bring... You know what I'll bring.

What a very, very cool idea & thing to do. Even more so to get there ON A HORSE!
The salad looks yummy.
(... boo-hoo, I will miss the 2nd gathering - it's our 25th wedding anniversary right on Vernal Equinox)

Say, have a wonderful gathering! I love the poster ~ and your produce exchange does look worth the effort. Seems like a lovely day would be enjoyed by all.

I'd be there but my horse is slow and it's a long way;)

That would be great, Petrea. Amy, hope you can make it because you don't want to miss Vanda's tart.

We'll miss you Tash. As well as Shell and Prairie Runner, who have decided not to fly in for the day.

I just want to say, it's worth flying in for Vanda's tart.

I will not be making the Thai spiced peanut tuna salad again this year.

Pomme frites from this corner.

Oh I've got my lip poked out and I'm feeling very pouty and left out. Waaaaaaaaa. And just so you know, my potato salad is deeevine! Oh and my deviled eggs are fine too. Just saying.

Vanda's a tart? Who knew!

You're all so friendly with each other, even the horses and dogs tag along.

Great! I'm just going to have to pace myself with Susan's sangria. Sheesh, what wallop for so early in the day.
Love the location--is that where the food swap is? Food exchange is news to me, and I've got cart loads of meyer lemons--CO:I will provide lemon bars, in case you're wondering--

Party....WOW....lucky you!

I guess you're not talking about breakfast here with all that pomme de terre, or....

Just look out for the tartar!

I don't mind sharing tour duties with Paula (PJ) today. She knocked the ball out of the park, didn't she?

Did you bring home some carrots for Vandy?

Pasadena Adjacent said...

Oh my...there she is on top of me. Hi Paula. I feel like I'm on the Brady Bunch

Kris is the name of the horse?

This post has Arroyo Magazine written all over it. Niiiice.

Sadly, I can't make it to the bloggy picnic this year. My first born is getting married on the day and I have to make a sloppy drunk toast filled with TMI as MOTB to embarrass all.

If I was rich, smart and innovative, I'd invite the lot to come to the wedding after the picnic is over--with your cameras.

O' the blogger fodder there...

O' the homegrown beet red tomorrows...

O' Miss H, what a day!

Tim at altadenablog lets out his inner satyr when it's time for the Primavera posters. Rather brilliant.

Another warning: Be careful and don’t get sauced!

Swap looks great - I've been trying to make it to the relatively new one they have in Monrovia but I keep missing it. The picnic . . . I'm hoping to be there with my daughter and some good food but I'll email and let you know for sure. WV = chili . . . hint about what I should make?

Love the WV Bec.

And this goes for everyone -- Really, you don't have to RSVP. You don't even have to bring a plastic fork. Just show up if you can, and like the last one, it's very kid friendly.

Here, here! Come one and all! People keep asking me, "Can I bring my husband/kids/sister-wives? Do I have to be in the San Gabriel Valley? Do I have to have a blog?"

People, you're acting like we've hired a husky legbreaker to check everyone's credentials at the door! We're as motley a crew as you can get!

And yes, Petrea and anyone else: steal that flyer! Post it early and often! I can give it to you in your choice of formats!

Oh, I've missed three posts. This is what happens when I get a stomach bug.

I'm psyched about the blogger picnic!
